The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (HKEx) has conclusions to its consultation on the ‘Review of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting Guide (ESG Guide) and Related Listing Rules’ (ESG Consultation Conclusions); and the findings of its latest review of listed issuers’ ESG disclosures (ESG Disclosure Review) on May 2019.

The consultation has received 153 responses from stakeholders of different sector. There is a strong support on the proposed update on the ESG Guide to further enhance the reporting framework. The Exchange is now working on the ESG reporting framework with comments integrated, and the changes will be effective for financial years commencing on or after 1 July 2020.
